Who we are

Metko Labs is the developer and publisher of TrackerSonar, a tracker detector app for iPhone, iPad and Android. On the App Store the app is listed as “Tracker Detect - TrackerSonar”, and on Google Play as “Tracker Detect”. Learn more about the company at www.metkolabs.com.

Our mission

Small Bluetooth trackers are great for finding keys and luggage, but they can also be misused to follow people. Our mission is to give anyone a simple, trustworthy way to check their surroundings, understand what they find and know what to do next — without fear-mongering and without collecting their data.

That shapes how we build TrackerSonar: a clear verdict first (“No trackers found” or “1 possible tracker nearby”), calm language, tools to physically find a tag, and everything about the devices you scan kept on your device. We also publish free guides about unwanted trackers that are useful whether or not you use our app.

Editorial policy: how we check our guides

• Primary sources first. Statements about how iPhone, Android and tracker makers handle unwanted tracking are based on official documentation — mainly Apple Support, Android Help, Apple Newsroom and the IETF working group on Detecting Unwanted Location Trackers. Each guide lists its sources.
• No invented numbers. We don’t publish statistics, timings or quotes we can’t trace to a reliable source. Where behaviour varies by device, model, software version or country, we say so.
• Honest about our own app. Descriptions of TrackerSonar match what the app actually does, including its limits, and we say clearly which features are part of Premium. Where built-in phone features are enough, we say that too.
• Safety over sales. Every guide puts personal safety first and points to emergency services and support organizations.
• Kept up to date. Each guide shows a “last updated” date. We review the guides when Apple, Google or tracker makers change their protections.
• Corrections. If you spot an error, write to info@metkolabs.com. We correct mistakes promptly and update the date.

Our guides are general information, not legal advice. Laws about tracking people differ between countries; your local police or a lawyer can tell you what applies to you.

Independence

TrackerSonar is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple, Google, Samsung, Tile/Life360, Chipolo or Pebblebee. Product names are used only to describe which trackers the app can recognize.
